Description: Our fibre-reinforced cutting and grinding wheels are made of premium aluminum oxide grains (A, WA, ZA, SA, etc.) or silicon carbide(C&GC) bonded with resin. These wheels provide an aggressive finish on all metals. They are the best choice for heavy stock removal and blending applications of all ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Removing and blending weldments are their most common use.

The Five Factors of Grinding Wheel

1.Grit: Nature of abrasive grain

Code Type Features & Usage
A Brown aluminum oxide

Standard abrasive. High hardness and toughness. Free hand grinding, heavy-duty grinding and precision grinding of general purpose steel.

WA White aluminum oxide
Higher hardness than A. Sharp grains edges, excellent cutting performance. Precision grinding of general quenched steel.

PA Pink aluminum oxide

Sharp grains edges, excellent durability. Precision grinding of measuring tools and parts of apparatus etc.

SA Monocrystalline aluminum oxide
Ball-shaped single crystals with outstanding multi-corner edges and strong impact strength. Grinding of stainless steel, high vanadium-high speed steel etc.

C Black silicon carbide
Standard silicon carbide abrasive.
Grinding of cast iron, non-ferrous metal, ceramic, etc.

GC Green silicon carbide
Ultra high hardness, highly friable and sharp grain edges. Grinding of sintered hard metals, cast iron, non-ferrous metal, ceramic, etc.


2.Grit No.: Size of abrasive grain. The selection of grit sizes has direct influences on the surface roughness and cutting efficiency of workpieces. Generally, the wheels in coarser sizes possess high cutting efficiency, but the surface roughness of the workpiece is worse. Whereas the wheels in finer sizes possesses low cutting efficiency, but the surface roughness is better.

3.Grade: The retaining strength of bonding agent which holds the abrasive grains.

4.Structure: Proportion of grains to the entire wheel. The bigger the grains percentage is, the denser the structure is. Otherwise, the structure is porous.

5.Resinoid Bond: The bond is mainly intended for holding the abrasive grains together so that the bonded wheels have got definite shapes and necessary strength to perform grinding work efficiently. Resinoid bond is represented by symbol 'B', which is distinguished by its higher strength and definite elasticity and can be used under high operation speed. Thus, resinoid bond is suitable for thin grinding wheels such as cutting wheels and depressed centered wheels.
