Green garnet is also an abrasive with hardness in 6.0~6.5. While the main contains of alluvia garnet are garnet and quartz. The hardness of quartz is only about 5.0~5.5 which will definitely lower the cutting or blasting efficiency. But the problem is you can not notice these useless quartz as it is transparent.
