ABRASIPA Indústria de Abrasivos commenced its activities in 1960, coinciding with the development of Brazil's car industry and consequent demand for fabrication of more technical wheels and abrasives with greater operational performance.
At first, it focused primarily on the industrial market but honing for engines and rubber bonded disks for card clothing also feature among its main products.
In the 1970's, ABRASIPA specialized in the production of high performance cutting discs, high quality grinding wheels and centerless grinding.
In the 1980's, the company started fabrication of glass polishing products, a segment in which it soon became a leader. Focusing on innovation and quality, it developed an important product line for all types of edging machines, bevellers, polishers ... and other types of grinding wheels for the glass industry.
